Introduction
Close your Eyes explores the artist's dreams as ambitions, inhibitions, anxieties, and mental explorations. In producing the imagery, whatisiana aims to portray these feelings so they might manifest and burst forth into reality. The alternative would be to repress and implode.
While many artists portray their perspective from within a dream, in this three-part exhibition, whatisiana slowly comes to terms with the reality of dreams after wrestling with their abstract nature.
Multiple consistent visual themes can be found within the imagery. Most notably, the "rays" that emit from (or perhaps absorb into) the subject. These rays draw the viewer's focus toward the artist's ultimate focus, which is highlighted by white chalk lines detailing the subject.
More subtly, the white noise effect that consumes each subject cues the viewer that they are sleeping. White noise is a method through which children are often lulled to sleep. This seemingly minor, unwritten detail beautifully demonstrates whatisiana's attention to his craft.
I invite you to take a moment to breathe and consider your own ambitions as you follow whatisiana's path through the psyche of a dreamer.

Golden dreams settled in my head from an early age.
They keep you awake at night, but they make you wake up in the morning.
Everything can be achieved only by one's own efforts and perseverance.
Or not?
Why think about what is unknown?
No one answers, but it's not necessary. Silence
can be considered an answer. Embraced
by the silence and the sun's rays, I found
interest on the way.
Sleep has become cleaner, and the days
are calmer. In the end, only what is really
needed remains. Everything remains
in the past, and we will not see the future
with our eyes closed.

whatisiana is a 23-year-old graphic designer who lives an ordinary life. He firmly believes in the power of fate and the importance of striving to achieve one's goals. His work reflects his personal experiences and everything that surrounds him.
