In Everynights: THE FIRST 500 DAYS, Wagenkencht attempts to create an aesthetic whole.
Organized in loose chronological order from day 1 to 500 Wagnknecht reveals abstract conceptual forms of structure and abstraction in the collection. Each work was created while Wagenknecht was falling asleep with her hand on her phone. In this transit state the artist works with the unpredictability of the creative output and the unknown. The work represents a departure from traditional artistic techniques and serves as a study of the pervasive belief that we must optimize every aspect of our lives into something productive, including sleep and rest. The works reference Dalì's Paranoiac Critical Method. Dalì used to paint the last glimpse of images upon abruptly waking up while Wagenknecht made the drawings while falling asleep.
