Giulio di Giuliano de' Medici (26 May 1478 – 25 September 1534) – The Pontifex Maximus

Giulio’s life didn’t start off easy, born illegitimately a month after his father Giuliano de’ Medici was murdered, he spent the first 7 years of life with his godfather. After which, Lorenzo the Magnificent took him in to raise as one of his own sons. Educated at the Palazzo Medici, Giulio became an accomplished musician. Then enrolled in the Knights of Rhodes, before following his cousin Giovanni’s footsteps into church affairs, eventually becoming head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States for over a decade until his death.

Despite his diplomatic savvy, Clement VII's reign was marked by a rapid string of consequential political, military & religious struggles—many long in the making.
