Frozen Bolts is the follow-up image to "Electric City" - my most memorable experience shooting one of the rarest storm surges San Diego has seen in recent memory. Captured in October 2021, this photo was the result of pure luck; based off a coin flip to determine whether or not I'd attempt my first shot at storm photography.

In the description of "Electric City", I discuss how fast this storm was moving across the city skyline. This created difficult circumstances (combined with no previous experience) and required quick adjustments. For various reasons, the foreground in the raw version of this shot was slightly blurry, so I overlapped a clear skyline in lieu of the blurry buildings, resulting in the realistic view from this incredible spectacle of nature rarely experienced in my hometown of San Diego.
