Cathedral is a series of stills generated by LIA in collaboration with a software programme of her own conception and development. The original code was written to produce live visuals for a performance of Schubert’s Mass in A Flat Major that took place in St Stephen’s Cathedral, in the heart of Vienna, on June 1st, 2012. It has been extensively modified and improved for this NFT series. LIA’s ongoing fascination with structures and angles, shapes and colours, movement and stillness and depth, is here blessed with a touch of the spiritual: angels and faith, prayers and hopes; a blend of the concrete and the abstract, offering images of surreal complexity.
