Cheugy ("chew-gee") is a word used to describe anything that is untrendy, out of date or trying too hard.

I created the word in 2013. At first, it was just me and my high school friends using it. Fast-forward to 2021 and cheugy has gone viral.

Cheugy was recently featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Guardian and many other publications. It is popular with Gen Z.

I thought it would be very cheugy to create The Cheugy NFT.
