When I am shooting at the beach, one of my favorite scenes to capture is the reflection of a colorful sunset in the wet sand as the tide ebbs back out to sea. The way the sunset can reflect almost perfectly in the sand and create an entire scene of pink and gold with a little sliver of the ocean in between is magical.

This was an incredible sunset that appeared after two hours of solid rain and I was convinced there was no chance it was going to clear. My friends were in town and said we were going no matter what because they wanted to see where I grew up. We sat in the car with our photography gear as the rain continued to pour. Ten minutes before sunset, it stopped. We got out and as we were walking toward the beach, this started to appear as the clouds opened up. We started running, setting up our tripods as we ran, and made it in time to capture one of the most beautiful nights here, at my home away from home. It was so magical.
