"Le sape" is a cultural movement and lifestyle that originated in the Congo. It derives from the Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes (Society of Ambiance Makers and Elegant People), and its members are known as "sapeurs." Sapeurs are distinguished by their elegant and colorful clothing, often featuring designer suits and striking accessories, contrasting with the often more modest surroundings of their communities.
