In the courts of 16th century Europe, the prolific art collector posed to have his own portrait sealed in posterity. He was a connoisseur of the arts, a person of fine artistic tastes--producing music for the monarchs--creating new sounds to highlight the young musical virtuosos of his time who needed exposure.

HIs network and riches then allowed him to amass beautiful pieces of art which he displayed prominently in his studio.
