Created for the Pixel Palette Nation Crypto Lore Collection
My assignment was to create a piece based on this article:
https://abcnews.go.com/Business/timeline-cryptocurrency-exchange-ftxs-historic-collapse/story?id=93337035
As I read the article, I found myself thinking - wasn't this (the collapse of FTX) obvious? Wasn't it predictable?
Then, I thought more about the human nature behind it...the somewhat sad but loveable character of Sam Bankman-Fried, the piling on of accolades, the partygoers, the mismanagement, the misdirection, the cling-ons...
And I began to wonder, who were truly the clowns in all of this? SBF and his minions, or the millions who jumped in the clown car with him?
We are all looking for that next, best, thing. Hopefully, without expending too much energy or effort. Let someone else do the work for me...
Fear of clowns is a real thing. Intended to make us laugh, sometimes they highlight anxieties that lie deep inside...
Are we looking in the mirror?
