SOLOS: Eugene Vladie

“I have been immersed in the fascinating art world since my school days when my teacher took the class to various art exhibitions and museums.”

Eugene Vladie

I took part in various creative competitions; those were fun times. Art has become a part of my life.

Meeting many artist friends on Web3 and seeing their work created an indelible impression on me. I saw new opportunities for creative growth and for presenting my art to the world community.

My Web3 journey began in 2023 with detailed hand-drawn black and white illustrations on A2 and A3 sheets of paper. Then, I began experimenting. I became interested in transforming my art into something unusual; in other words, I was in search of my own style. I started to create collages based on my physical drawings, which were scanned and processed in Krita and Photoshop. There were several collections listed on the Foundation marketplace.

In October 2023, I decided to create 100% physical art again. This time, it is acrylic paintings on canvas and cardboard. The first painting was selected for the Medici Emerging collection. At this stage of creativity in painting, I am working on two collections. One is in a Western style, and the second is dedicated to the beauty of nature and simple things.

Speaking about myself, I want to emphasize that I am an experimental artist constantly pursuing new standards and ideals. Having extensive experience in traditional art and working with standard editors, I am adding work in Procreate to my portfolio of skills. With all this at my disposal, I will gradually evolve my unique style and create the art of my dreams.

My art is dominated by warm, desert-woody tones, conveying the atmosphere of the Wild West. In contrast to the arid, hot desert, I depict a cold blue sky with clouds of cold tones. In addition to humans, animals are constantly present on my canvases: often horses, as well as birds, a dog, a bull, and so on, depending on the plot of the work. Viewers, looking at the details of the works, can come up with their own unique stories.

Rodeo is a traditional sport in North America, involving wild bull or horse racing. The cowboy must not only stay on the horseback for 8 seconds but also show the animal's potential by spurring it.

For me, this picture also has another, symbolic meaning. The ability to ride a bull and stay on it represents overcoming all the demons within yourself, taking control of your life, and purposefully moving towards your dream, overcoming any obstacles.

Beautiful Carpathian Mountains, warm sun, fresh mountain air smelling of pine needles—I sit firmly in the saddle and rush like the wild wind toward the freedom and beauty of nature. Moments like these make you want to live and enjoy life.

“When creating my collection in a Western style, I was inspired by cinema—these unforgettable epic stories about cowboys and bandits.”
