Welcome to the Here We Art collection!

An animated series about the NFT space, artists, collectors and art in general... About us.

This series takes its inspiration from newspaper cartoons: demonstrating the obvious through uncluttered visuals, so that the idea strikes the viewer immediately.

Many people denounce the shortcomings of this space with their own words, but my means of expression is animation. So let's get to it!

“The work of art is the exaggeration of an idea.”

André Gide

Since 2020 and the popularization of NFTs, thousands of artists and collectors, both digital and traditional, have formed the NFT space. Born of meme culture and the desire for artistic fun, CryptoArt quickly became a subject of speculation, with the term crypto taking up much more space than the word Art.

This animated series was born out of a desire to bring an outsider's view of the NFT space. To expose its aberrations.

Masks

The characters' masks represent what we show on social networks, an avatar, a digital facade of ourselves.

The artist is often represented by a figure with its head on fire.

The mind constantly searching for new ideas.

Artists and collectors

Artists today are no longer simply creators; with the advent of social networks, they've also become their own agents, community managers and broadcasters, In constant battle with social networking algorithms.

Visibility has become the key, and marketing has become a big part of the job. Sometimes to the detriment of the work itself.

And when an artist or collector gains popularity, it also comes at a price: the large number of reactions, the jealousy, the attempts at swindling, you have to know how to find your way through all these pitfalls.

The value of Art ?

How do you define the financial value of a work of art?

A question all artists ask themselves.

In addition to sentimental value, there's the artist's quote, often defined by what he's already sold.

And in this world, where even the value of the currency used to buy art is not stable, how can you avoid getting lost?

Is it ART ?

Art evolves, as history has taught us.

Today, anyone can create art; digital tools are increasingly powerful.

But when technology does most of the work, what remains of the human touch? And can it really be considered a tool?

With the speculative side of cryptoArt, the line between an artistic work and a collector's item, like a Panini card or a valuable stamp, is very blurred, even for someone on the inside.

So, explaining it to someone unfamiliar with this universe can be complicated.

Does quality matter?

Even if the space is relatively new, we have unfortunately recreated the inequalities that can be found in many societies.

There's the elite, artists who have rapidly gained in value and recognition with collectors, selling their work instantly at very high values.

And then there are the others, trying to gain visibility by selling their work at derisory prices.

Today, the gap between the two has become too wide, and gives the impression that all artists recognized in the NFT space have already been designated, regardless of the quality of their creation, the artist's name is more important than what he or she creates.

As long as there's no hope of success, artists will continue to leave the adventure.
