Eternal Playground: Echoes of Innocence in a Blu World

This curation is an invitation to rekindle the flames of our childhood essence that still flicker within us. It is a call to embrace the simplicity of joy, the audacity of our dreams, the curiosity of our youth, and the strength of our shared human spirit. I invite you to interact with these artworks not just as observers but as participants in a shared exploration of what it means to carry the light of childhood innocence into the complexities of our adult lives. In doing so, we may find that the values and perspectives we associate with childhood possess a timeless relevance and can offer profound insights into our journey through life.

Eternal Playground is a celebration of the enduring spirit of childhood, a tribute to the resilience, creativity, and hope that define us as human beings. It is an acknowledgment of the artistry in joy, the courage in dreaming, and the strength in unity. As you move through this exhibition, I encourage you to reflect on your own experiences, to reconnect with the child within, and to consider how the themes presented resonate with your journey.

A message from the curator, juujuumama:

As the curator of Eternal Playground, it is my privilege to present a series of artworks that delve deeply into the essence of childhood innocence, viewed not merely as a phase of life but as a perennial source of inspiration, creativity, and resilience. Through this curation, we explore how the themes of playfulness, dreams, youthful spirit, and resistance manifest in various forms, urging us to reflect on our intrinsic values and the simplicity of joy that often gets overshadowed in the complexities of adulthood.

"Make your own fun," the first piece in this collection, serves as a vivid reminder of the pure, unadulterated joy found in life's simple pleasures. This artwork embodies the principle that happiness is not contingent on external factors but is a state that can be cultivated internally, echoing the childlike ability to find delight in the mundane. The message is clear and profound: joy is a personal creation, an art in itself, which we are all capable of mastering regardless of our circumstances.

Transitioning to "Little Man Big Dreams," we encounter a representation of the boundless potential and ambition inherent in the child's mind. This piece is a poignant commentary on the power of dreams and aspirations, highlighting the importance of holding onto our dreams with unwavering conviction. It evokes a sense of nostalgia and longing for the times when our dreams knew no bounds, and our future seemed a canvas of endless possibilities.

"The fountain of youth" invites viewers to drink metaphorically from the eternal wellspring of youth, to reconnect with their inner child. This artwork is a metaphorical journey back to the roots of our essence, where curiosity and wonder were our primary guides. It suggests that youth is not a period confined to the chronological timeline of our lives but a state of being that can be revisited and embraced at any moment.

Lastly, "The girl with totter" confronts us with a narrative of resilience and hope in the face of adversity. This piece encapsulates the spirit of resistance against the forces that seek to conform or diminish our essence. It is a powerful testament to the strength found in unity and collective struggle, echoing the childhood games where we stood together, unbreakable, against perceived adversaries.

Collectively, these artworks weave a tapestry of interconnected themes that challenge us to contemplate our relationship with the foundational aspects of childhood innocence. They urge us to consider how these elements—joy, dreams, curiosity, and resistance—remain vital components of our adult lives, shaping our perspectives and responses to the world around us.

“Apart from blue being my favorite color, blue represents the sky and ocean, which relates to infinite possibilities and feelings essential to human existence. Just because you failed at something doesn't mean you can't succeed at another.”
