I lived in the suburbs nearly all my life

It wasn't until I left that I realized just how strange they are

Suburbs are everywhere, filled with universal sights and experiences

Yet somehow, they remain unexplainably odd

They're filled with beauty: green grass, perfect lawns, and colorful flowers

They're are also filled with mystery

Suburbs are where children start to dream

But it's also where many let their dreams die
