This design has been the symbol of the artist Michael Strauss for over 15 years. 

Based on Metatron’s Cube and Star Tetrahedron, this pattern of hexagons is also known as the “Grid of Life”.

The same arrangement of 18 hexagons is now recognized as the iconic golden mirror array of the James Webb Space Telescope - our newly awakened eye in the cosmos.
