“Black Women Are The Future” features futuristic portraits of black women as robots set against colorful cityscapes.
Using AI, I portray Black women as strong, empowered, and unapologetic in their robotic forms, breaking away from traditional gender roles and expectations. I use robots as a metaphor of the dehumanization and objectification that Black women often face and as a commentary on the way that society attempts to limit and define us. It speaks to reclaiming power and agency as women.
