Fernando Samalot

Sea of Light is a collection of photos and poems created between 2018-2021. 

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria uprooting all my life as I knew it in Puerto Rico in 2017, I went on a journey of self-discovery and reconnection that would take me around the world and change my life forever.

This work embodies that journey through love, loss, death and rebirth.

It's named in honor of my daughter, who even though didn't exist at the time, she was always the one guiding me back home.
