"I am my memories of her. Don’t you see?
Destroy me a thousand times, and if she remains, then so do I."
Why do we love the night? Ancient stars shining down on us?
Do we love their stability, their clarity?
Do we envy their eternity?
Perhaps we see reflections of our own brevity in the evanescent light of meteors? Do we feel excitement watching them burn, even for a moment?
The more we learn about this Universe and our place in it, the more we try to explain away. But that primal love remains, beneath everything. There is danger and freedom in the night.
So find someone who loves the stars as you do. Find a place that’s calm and dark. And make the most of your time together.
“After that, there was the huge night again and the sound of stars turning and suns whispering to themselves and the sound of her heart, like another world in space.” - Ray Bradbury
