After having stolen a fortune from Niita and attempting to flee as far as possible, the Ookami activated one of their most feared hunters, PROJECT: AØ, formerly known only as "Yato," to retrieve "Koa."

Yato was a young individual with various special abilities, but after an accident involving bombs during a mission, parts of his body were severely damaged. In order to save him, the Ookami utilized the skills of their scientists to modify parts of his body.

His name became known as AØ. His arms gained strength to lift surrealistically heavy objects, his legs were designed for powerful impulses and long-distance jumps, enhancing his speed and agility. Yato also received an implant in his spine that enables him to have above-average reasoning and response time to actions with his weapons and tools.

The mission was clear: bring Koa back, dead or alive.
