I stayed with my parents for a while last month. It felt like returning to a cage: the loss of freedom, being closely watched, being well taken care of.

This work is from that feeling. I had to present myself in a certain way; I couldn't be myself when I was home.

I also wanted to depict a family relationship that seems peaceful in appearance but is dysfunctional beneath the surface.

My good friend @images_sombres made the music for this piece.
