Photo of famous Whang-od, a Filipina tribal tattoo artist from a small mountain village of Buscalan within the town of Tinglayan in Kalinga province, northern region of Philippines. She was featured not just locally but also internationally (National Geographic, The New York Times and BBC). She was nominated for the National Living Treasures Award in Philippines.

Whang Od is the oldest living traditional mambabatok (Batok means the art of tribal tattoo) also known as "The Last Tribal Tattoo Artist". At present time, she is now 105 years old and still a mambabatok. She now has two successors from her bloodline to preserve the legacy.
