No.4 of 19 in this mouse painted series - 1999-2002.

“Outer Rim” was completed in early 2000. I remember thinking it would be “so cool" if we could get close enough to the rings of a planet like Saturn to make out the individual objects from the dust. Firstly, I remember painting stars for a looong time, trying to replicate a feel of an astronomical photograph, but it ended up being more superreal than those, due to the vivid perspective I used.

Lastly, no matter how long I worked on those icy rocks, they never seemed done!
