I am interested in the detailed textures, materials, networks, and patterns created by nature and I endeavor to represent these materials and networks abstractly in the digital realm using 3D modeling and animation.
For this piece, I have studied and photographed the bark of earth (soil and mulch) and created a complex animated network based on slimemolds and fungi to surround it.
The materials represented are very personal to me and represent my deep connection with and affection for nature.
This digital animation is part of a video/sound installation exhibited at ETHDenver February 18-20, 2022.
This piece has a physical counterpart displayed along with an augmented reality experience at EDGE Contemporary Art Gallery January 28 - February 13, 2022.
