“Sociability” is a word from Blur’s Coffee & TV (C&T) where guitarist Graham Coxon composed after quitting alcohol. The verse “Sociability is hard enough for me, take me away from this big bad world and agree to marry me” growing up listening to it made me thought it was about the life of someone with inferiority complex. I interpreted “Agree to marry me” as marrying my love for pop-culture and everything illustrations. Hence the elements of Nintendo, and red panda who predominantly stays on trees (home) where i always create my illustrations. The pigs, lazing red pandas and screaming Godzillas are the motive of expressions that I see myself in as an artist who constantly struggles with creative ideas for a new piece of work. The tube screen tv in the illustration already hinted the idea of which pop culture era I was influenced by. In a nutshell, there will always be the perks & pitfalls in the universe we live in, so take it easy and enjoy the show, for it's the journey that matters!
