This piece concludes my Genesis collection and is one that truly brings it full circle. My journey in photography started back in 2010 when I visited a local temple in Bangkok on an Art class field trip. I took my first photograph that day, and one particular photo opened up my eyes to the possibilities of this medium. I was in awe of this newfound power to capture moments that will remain frozen in time forever.
While that temple serves as a special personal memory and my origin story in photography, Bangkok has an abundance of them. Each unique in its own way. Over the years, as I grew into the travel genre of photography, I enjoy visiting different temples here in my hometown more and more. I use these chances to develop my skills both on and off the camera. It is in those moments, between shutters, taking deep breaths in and out, that I am most at peace and can relive in that awe.
This photograph was taken in December 2019 of Wat Arun from across the Chao Phraya river.
