In my perspective, Vincent van Gogh, had a strong and firm personality. He endured all the pains and hardships and found his way to the success. For me, Van Gogh and the Butterfly, is a challenge between the two side of a human which are the happy side and the sad so I did my best to show these challenge in the music. As you can hear, while the music is full of internal joy and romance, Vincent van Gogh sadness, dignity and magnificence is preserved by the string quartet. Therefore, The strings deeply help the audience to feel these wavy combined feelings while on the other hand piano is clear and direct to illustrates the contrast. It is said the beauty of an artwork, like a music, is bounded to repetition and contrast, so I strongly recommend you not to stop after the first time :)
