A digital progression of an original painting of Grand Central Station, mixed media on aluminium. Crowds pace through the station's vast concourse beneath the iconic information booth clock, emphasising the constant passing of time. Large arched windows flood the concourse with light, illuminating this monumental meeting place.
To create this NYC piece, the physical oil paintings were digitised using a Leica M (Type 240) rangefinder camera, paired with the Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 lens for superlative colour depth and image quality, preserving the tones and textures of the source painting. These images were then composited, enhanced and expanded upon, introducing digital manipulation and motion in 3D space to create the final artwork.
For further provenance on this artwork, you can view it in the Digital Collection on my official website, where you can also see examples of my physical paintings.
