This reflection of Columbus Circle and Central Park, taken from the top of the world's tallest residential skyscraper, has sparked conversation about Seneca Village. What was once a thriving and predominantly African American settlement of landowners was torn down to build Central Park. When I think about this, I am reminded about the importance of reflection (to be self-aware and to see ourselves from within) and introspection (to self-evaluate and act on our inner truths) in order to better handle the realities and the seeming realities of our world.
