Kā Tiritiri o te Moana; Mirage of the Ocean

As we soared through the air over Te Waipounamu, I was overwhelmed by the mountains of Kā Tiritiri o te Moana, the Southern Alps, which translates to the Mirage of the Ocean. What seemed like just a moment ago, well before this cloak of fresh snow, we had traversed through the undulating hills, braided rivers, lush forests and valleys, immersing ourselves in the immense spirit of this wild landscape.

In this moment, I understood the true magic that lay within these mountains, etching a memory of the incredible journey that led to this beautiful place.
