Many moons ago I was working on a project for Olympus magazine using my OM-1n film camera and my OM-D EM-5.
This involved a merry series of visits during the day and night to the magical sycamore tree nestled in Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland. From these trips I added countless sets of images of the tree to my existing collection.
The little tree is commonly referred to as the ‘Robin Hood’ tree, due to having co-starred with Kevin Costner in his Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves film.
The now iconic wee tree is a delight to see at any time of day or night, and this monochrome image, I hope, goes some way to introducing you to its magical allure.
