The wave photo:
A photo captured by Matt on one of his very first encounters with Teahupo'o. The waves were storm-like and massive. Matt described them as liquid mountains. An encounter Matt will forever remember as it sparked his love for wave photography.

The whale photo:
A memorable moment for Matt as he experienced this with his father. They went on a dive for their reunion after being apart for three years. While in the water, Matt took this photo of two nearby whales swimming. To Matt, this photo means family, it holds a memory he shares with his father.

The edit:
Two beautiful moments captured in the ocean joined into one. A scene where two whales swam slowly underwater as roaring waves rushed over the surface. We focused on the number 2 hoping it would invoke a feeling of unity and togetherness.
