For days we were driving through the Libyan desert looking for Beduins as we finally discovered a beautiful oasis that looked like in a fairy tale. A few palm trees, some camels, a few goats and a few little houses surrounded by big sand dunes.
We entered the little village and experienced the amazing hospitality of the Beduins.
Full of pride they showed us their camels when I discovered Mabruko playing with her chicken and ducks.
I was fascinated by the energy of Mabruko’s eyes and asked her mother if I could take pictures of her.
I placed her in front of the families house and she ran quickly to get on of her birds. A little wind blow, just at the right moment, helped to have strand of hair in her face.
I took 4 pictures with my large format camera on b&w film hoping that I got the intensity in her eyes. I also took some Polaroids and handed them to the family expressing my gratitude and thankfulness.
We tried to return to the oasis but unfortunately could not find it again.
