I really wanted to love this image as soon as I took it, but it just seemed like something was missing. It was colourful and pretty, but I couldn't quite figure out why it didn't appeal to me as much as looking at the real thing. I stared at the image for ages. I tried all sorts of edits but it just seemed to look flat every time.

I stepped away and left it for a while, looked at the flower again and tried to see what it was that that caught my eye in the first place. Then it clicked. The small intricate details, so delicate and perfect. That's what I needed to draw out and show what was in my mind's eye.

I returned to edit it again and finally found what I was looking for.
This was the end result and I love it!
