After ten hours of climbing in a silence broken only by the sound of my heartbeat and footsteps, I reached an altitude of 4,200 meters—where the air no longer welcomed human. Breathing was difficult, as if every breath had to be begged from the sky.
Suddenly, a scene came to life before my eyes. A steadfast mountain, a tranquil pond, and a sky revealing its secrets in the water’s reflection. It felt as though all the hardships had been leading to this very moment.
I prepared my camera, deciding to stop time with a long exposure. I left the shutter open, and in those five minutes, while the light danced with the lens, I stood still, simply witnessing it all.
The result of that moment was an image for me that words cannot describe. It was as if the very breath of nature flowed through this frame.
This was the highlands of Mazandaran (northern Iran), where the earth and sky intertwine.
