named for the penultimate song on pink floyd's 1973 album 'dark side of the moon' and inspired by its iconic cover art, this piece is about trauma and its possible outcomes. i began conceptualizing this in january 2022 and created a physical painting (with watercolor, acrylic, and nail polish) back then that has been hanging on my fridge staring at me every day since, but the original photo i took of myself didn't feel just right. a year later, in january 2023, i decided to take a different approach by running the painting through AI (stable diffusion) and retaking the photo with the added gun. i further edited the painting's output + my photo in photoshop and it finally felt right. i'll see you on the dark side of the moon
