About Hacivat & Karagoz:
Hacivat ve Karagoz is a shadow play staged in Ottoman palaces in the 14th century. It is played on a screen with two-dimensional depictions based on imitation and conversation. It is the playing of two characters named Hacivat and Karagoz as puppets on a screen with two-dimensional depictions based on imitation and conversation.
There is a lot of evidence showing that Hacivat and Karagoz are real-life characters.

In this work, digital artist Cihan Engin imagined these important characters of Turkish culture in Metaverse. In this work, which is a futuristic adaptation, these characters, who are actually puppets in the shadow play, are imagined as avatars for the Metaverse and their real functions are preserved. Many drawing and manipulation techniques are used in the work, most of which is hand-drawn.
