In the summer of 2015 a tragicomic incident took place in the old town district of Istanbul. Due to an ordinary conflict, a tourist from Ireland fought many local men and beat them punching. He gained sympathy from a large part of society and was called the “Irish Tourist” and then the “Irish Boxer”.. For some he became a legend and even a hero because of beating bad guys. In time it was revealed that he was not Irish; but an Arabian man living in Ireland..

That incident was the source of inspiration while creating this artwork: The Irish Boxer is playing with his boxer puppy..
