Deep in a Redwood forest in Northern California, ferns grow under the trees in the dappled sunshine. They're delightful, but easy to walk by and not notice the interesting shapes the fronds make as they grow. I enjoy hikes with plenty of time to stop and peer at the plants and other growing things along the way: including these two ferns who just can't live without each other. <3 Ferns are ancient - they reproduce by spores because they evolved before flowering plants!
