Illustration based on an anecdote by Rumi
This Frame illustrates a part of the anecdote "Elephant in the Dark" where some nosy folks insisted on seeing an elephant belonging to a group of Indian buskers. The group used to tour with their elephant from one town to another and those folks wanted to be the first citizens who have seen an elephant in the city. Because of the dark, they could only search gropingly in the pitch-black stable for the animal. On their way home, right after they got out of the stable, they saw guests leaving a wedding and so they find a golden opportunity to show off their new knowledge of elephants to whom they knew. Since they could only able to touch a part of the animal's body in that darkness, the way they described the elephant was far different... The one who had touched the trunk depicted the animal as a snake and the other who had touched its back feet described it as two heavy pillars joining on the top!
