"KB24" is a photograph that has never been shared before. I had the honor of working with Kobe Bryant and his company, Granity Studios. It was the beginning of what was supposed to be the biggest break of my career. Kobe wasn't there that day but I was excited that we wrapped up the first shoot with a major sports icon. As I was putting my gear away, I noticed that the talent was sitting on Kobe's director chair. With the light shining down, illuminating the empty director seat, I snapped this photo in hopes of one day meeting the greatest to ever do it, Kobe Bryant. Unfortunately, 7 days later, on that fateful Sunday morning, Kobe Bryant, his 13-year old daughter, Gianna Bryant, and seven others passed from this life. It was then that this photograph took on a whole different meaning. The light, the empty director's chair, "Bryant" on the back. The world had a Kobe-sized hole that could never be filled. Thank you, Kobe, for everything.
