This first of a kind NFT represents the CTLA-4 invention disclosure filed by Jim Allison at UC Berkeley in 1995. This documents the first step in protecting the IP for immunotherapy, a groundbreaking way to attack cancer. In 2018, Allison was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for this invention. Immunotherapy has become the fourth pillar of cancer therapy, along with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Proceeds from this auction will fund continued research at UC Berkeley.
