Load on battered shoulders,
Not too weak to bear,
The weight was never known,
Until freedoms were visible.

It takes personal strength to leave,
With head held high,
But strength of character to remain,
With head held with pride.

Not requesting a lighter burden,
But insisting on broader shoulders,
To continue the path,
The journey deep within.

Remaining in the moment,
Keeps the heart strong,
Safe in the knowledge,
One is where one belongs…
