“Traces of the past, forgotten and that might be lost”
The artwork Fossil is not concerned with traditional ideas of beauty or framing. Instead, it aims to pique the viewer's curiosity about its existence. To me, the stones in the artwork represent an unexplored concept that I am trying to preserve. Through the process of transforming and redefining images, I witness the creation of a final piece that seamlessly wraps around an unknown surface.
This artwork challenges the conventional 3D understanding within a 2D context (an image) and represents an abstract form. Ultimately, the image of the building facade in Mumbai redefines the concept of a fossil and highlights the significance of preserving an idea, rather than solely focusing on its visual appeal.
The focal point of the artwork is the facade of a building in Mumbai that was under construction to establish a strong foundation. The walls and stones of this building will one day serve as remnants of the memories shared in time.
