Towering high in the North Cascades of Washington State stands Koma Kulshan, an active stratovolcano also known as Mount Baker. My first time to behold the "white sentinel" was at sunset on a cool summer evening. Its glacier-covered peak & grassy slopes glowed at the sun's hour of rest while pink clouds sweetened the scene like cotton candy.
