A mother, a calf and a yearling (a whale that was born the year before) cruising together under the midday sun.
One of the « rules » in underwater photography is that you want as little water between your lens and subject as possible… the closer you are, the more details you get in your image.
Sometimes I like to trade those details for a wider scene, giving the viewer a taste of what it feels like to experience that moment.
At this time of the day, the sun directly hitting the white parts of the whales makes them look like they are glowing, giving the scene that dreamy look.
Experiencing that feels like a lucid dream.
