Aoraki, the highest mountain in New Zealand, is the ancestral name given by the Maori which means “cloud piercer.”
I was privileged to call this special landscape and gold star night reserve my home for nearly 8 years. When I set out to create this image back in 2017, I wanted to depict a representation of home. It was not only important that the village brought the image to life but also harmoniously elevate Aoraki and the night sky. This image has enormous sentimental value to me.
