Banda Singh Bahadur(1670-1716), was a Sikh warrior & a commander of Khalsa army. At age 15 he left home to become a Hindu ascetic, & established a monastery at Nānded, on the bank of the river Godāvarī, where in September 1708 he was visited by, & became a disciple of, Guru Gobind Singh, who gave him the new name of Banda Singh Bahadur & 5 arrows as blessing for the battle ahead. The Fateh Burj was dedicated to him who led the army & defeated the Mughal forces.
