Description

Radames "Juni" Figueroa X Juan "JUFE" Fernández

The "Tropical Readymades" began in 2005 when Radames Juni came across a deflated basketball and intuitively used it as a planter. He used his two grandmothers as a point of reference, since both grew plants in all kinds of objects, a very common practice in Puerto Rico. Many of those planters are now in private collections, including the University Art Museum in Albany, New York. The "Tropical Readymades" have also been displayed in major museums and institutions, including the Whitney Museum and Sculpture Center, as well as other venues around the world. With the arrival of the NFT Juni has decided to collaborate with Jufe to preserve the concept since it is a complex work to preserve because its organic component entails specific and fragile care but through digital 3d it is immortalized.
