This video series is an exploration and homage to things in my past that represent tiny fractions of my heritage, sexuality and artistic aesthetic I have built a brand around myself with.
Growing up half Mexican, I only knew that my fathers side of the family were all from Mexico. We never learned Spanish. We were hidden from our culture and background our entire lives. That was a choice my father made.
I have battled with "feeling" Mexican and being queer my entire life.
This project has allowed me to explore, appreciate and re-claim my heritage as a Queer Latinx Artist for the first time in my life.
Everyday is a battle, and now I turn those moments into love and peace with myself.
