Now, more than ever, American bison are forced to endure some of the harshest conditions on the planet – just to survive. An ever-evolving landscape coupled with a rapidly changing climate have presented them with extreme weather – like the bitter cold winter temperatures Yellowstone is now known for. The vast winter landscape and the fresh falling snow provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the bison’s unwavering will to survive as he faces these harsh conditions head-on. As I stood in waste deep snow, shivering from the bitter cold temperatures, I pressed the shutter button on my camera to capture the moment. A moment now Frozen in Time.
